Dinosaur National Monument, Utah

Jensen | Vernal

Dinosaur National Monument is just across the Colorado border. We had a quick stopover on our 2020 fifth wheel trip from Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.

We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in Jensen, Utah. While the park was small and didn’t have a ton of shade in the Utah heat, the people running the campground were super nice and the facilities were clean. There was a nice playground and sprinkler system going so the kids could play when we had some down time.

Again, COVID-19 kept us from actually seeing the monument – a wall of exposed dinosaur bones, but we did walk around the area, saw some petroglyphs and went to the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum, which was pretty neat. The kids liked it and it allowed us to beat the heat.
